Jewelry Spotlight: Julia Bristow Jewelry

I'm a huge fan of jewelry that's unique and it's often tough to find. Usually I end up picking through things at flea markets with little success.  And with huge "buy in bulk" stores like Wal-Mart (don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with places like that for other things), we forget that there are actually some gorgeous pieces out there that are as unique as they are beautiful.

Julia Bristow's jewelry has it all.  The jewelry is handmade, which I'm sometimes wary of--we've all seen certain etsy designers who throw random beads together and try to sell it as art for $100.  This isn't at all the case with Julia Bristow's pieces.

In fact, everything is very wearable, an important factor when it comes to anything artistically handmade.  One of my favorite pieces is the Glass Heart Bead Pendant ($29).  It's one of those pieces that will make people stop, do a double take and ask where you got it.

There are also some whimsical pieces on the site like these awesome Grape Earrings ($29), pictured above.  Because who the heck doesn't need a pair of grape earrings??!  They're cool because at first glance they look like simple cluster earrings, but oh no--upon further inspection they're much more interesting.

There site has a plethora of jewelry and the prices range from about $29 to around $200, depending on what you're looking for.

It's nice to see that handmade, crafty jewelry doesn't always mean something like this (sorry for the horrible image, but I needed to make a point!)

You can find Julia Bristow on her site, or read her blog for more info.
